Join our team to install, inspect, and maintain avionics systems. Candidates must have a base knowledge of aircraft maintenance and avionics training is a bonus.  This is a position with training and would suit someone looking to grow or start in the aerospace avionics field. This position would is full-time at first.

Junior Maintenance Technician

Location: redlands, ca

An entry-level technician responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft structures and engines. These roles often involve working on flight school aircraft, in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facilities, or as assistants to senior mechanics, frequently offering opportunities to build experience with night shifts. This position would be a part-time at first, with 15-20hrs p/week.

What you can expect as an Junior Aircraft Maintenance Technician at GASPPS INC:

Whether you are replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical/hydraulic and pneumatic systems or performing inspections, no day is the same. What is the same, is that each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:

  • Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Removal and installation of panels and components
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft systems/component issues
  • De-fueling aircraft
  • Engine removal/installations
  • Operating ground support equipment
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiing
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
  • Notify Lead Mechanic of any problem areas such as parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness issues.
  • Provides the Lead Mechanic with a detailed report of work progression and open items to be included in the shift turnover log
  • Proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts, and panels appropriately stored including racks by aircraft.
  • Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts including, nights, holidays, weekends and days off.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent. An Airframe and Powerplant License is not required but of course if beneficial. A valid driver’s license.

Your Initiative:
We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.

Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Other particulars:

Physical Requirements
Lifts 70 lbs.
Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
Work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft. in the air) using fall protection safety gear
Work in small, restricted areas
Standing for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements
Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
Work with others in a professional manner.

Supervision
Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance.
May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. Work outside during aircraft runs will occur. Varied positions in and around the aircraft.

Equipment Used
Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment. Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices. Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.

Compensation & Benefit Information
The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $25.00 - $35.00. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package.
